Greg A. Lay,
Director
Boone
County Emergency Management Agency
Message From Director : The
Boone County Emergency Operations Center was established in April 1992, by the
Boone County Commission, to provide an enhanced emergency dispatch center to
serve the citizens of Boone County. The goal of The Boone County Emergency
Operations Center will be to provide an attentive efficient service to both the
general public, and emergency service agencies, by acting as the liaison,
providing assistance whenever needed.
The Boone County Emergency Operations Center
services the entire 503 square miles of Boone County, providing emergency
incident control for approximately 26,000 county residents. Funding for the
center is provided by The Boone County Commission, and a 911 surcharge by the
local telephone companies.
Greg Lay
Danny W. Yeomans, Deputy Director
Boone
County Emergency Management Agency
Message From Deputy Director: The Center was renamed on July 18 2007 to
The Boone County Emergency Management Agency, by The Boone County Commission.
On July 4th 2008, Boone County E-911 has put in place THE WARN
SYSTEM. This system will call phone numbers through out the county in cases of
emergency. Like flooding, disasters, or other dangers. We will test the system
from time to time. The system will call 300 to 1200 phone numbers a minute.
Below is a link to sign up to have the system to call cell phone numbers. So if
you have a cell phone, sign up, and the system will notify you in case of an
emergency.
